Creek Projects

Rock Hop

We would like to make the park and rec center more accessible to residents living to the west of the park by putting in a rock hop. This requires coordination amongst and approval from several groups as well as contract work from an engineer.

PHASE: FEASIBILITY & COST RESEARCH

Invasive Removal

The area by the creek is full of invasive species - primarily paper mulberry and ligustrum. Invasives cannot be cleared all at once both because it is a large amount of work, and because it would destabilize the ground. This will be continuous work, with larger portions completed by contractors and maintenance completed by volunteers.

Here is a fantastic guide on girdling for which we can take no credit!

Trails

We would like to make the creek more visible and accessible to visitors of the park by trimming in some existing (but hard to see) trails. Some trails might need to be slightly rerouted to protective the most sensitive areas of the banks.
